Diwali will be held on Friday, October 16 from 5-9pm at the Garner Recreation Center (215 W Main St).
Objectives:
To celebrate and share the richness of India's cultural heritage with the community
To foster family-friendly events that embrace inclusivity, diversity, and cultural appreciation while inspiring and strengthening future generations
To provide a welcoming platform for both emerging and returning performers to showcase their creativity through outstanding performances
If your group is looking for an opportunity to share its talent, we invite you to sign up for the Town of Garner Diwali celebration and be part of an unforgettable experience filled with culture, community, and lasting memories.
Each selected group will have a 15-minute time slot for their performance. For safety considerations due to the size of the stage, a maximum of 25 performers can be on stage at any one time.
Note:
This is an application, Garner Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources reserves the right to deny the application of any vendor that does not meet the current needs/policies of the department. Incomplete applications will be automatically denied. Performances will be selected by a Performance Review Panel. The Performance Review Panel reserves the final say in performance selection and costume appropriateness.
General Entry Requirements:
All entries will be carefully reviewed to ensure originality and minimize unintentional duplication among organizations, schools and choreographers.
Performers are required to submit a video audition. Final selections will be made based on the review process.
Audition Requirements:
Video auditions are mandatory for all entries and applications will be considered incomplete until a video audition is uploaded to dropbox. Performances that do not complete the audition process will not be considered for selection. Please submit a photo of the intended costume with the video audition.
Video auditions are due no later than September 14. Video auditions can be uploaded to dropbox; a link will be sent to each applicant upon receipt of the application.
