Holiday Block Party Vendor Application

Holiday Block Party will be held from 2-4:30pm at the Garner Recreation Center followed immediately by the Optimist Christmas Parade. These events see approximately 2,000 people in attendance.

Who Can Participate?
Artisan and Community Vendors who sell a variety of items. Vendors will be chosen based on the benefit and variety they provide to the event. Spaces are limited and not all who apply will be able to participate. Artisan Vendors must have an NC Tax ID number issued by the Department of Revenue to participate.

Vendors are encouraged to decorate their booths to create a fun, festive environment!

This is an application, Garner Parks and Recreation reserves the right to deny the application of any vendor that does not meet the current needs/policies of the department. Incomplete applications will be automatically denied. Vendor spaces at this event are limited.

Requirements IF application is accepted:
$50 vendor fee: refundable only if event is canceled by the Town of Garner Parks, Recreation, & Cultural Resources Department.
Vendors are responsible for providing their own table, chairs and tent. The Town will provide a 10x10 space. Vendors are encouraged to decorate their booths, however vendors must provide their own power source if using lights.

Other requirements/safety information:
Vendor applications and all items proposed for sale must be approved by Garner Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resources. No more than two vendors will be allowed to sell the same item. Only items listed on the application will be permitted to be sold during the event.
All Town ordinances must be followed.
Groups will be responsible for their own supplies.
Power must be provided by vendor (if power is available, that will be communicated at time of confirmation). Generators and other internal combustion power sources shall be separated from tents and membrane structures by a minimum of 20 feet.
Tents and membrane structures shall be adequately roped, braced, and anchored to withstand the elements of weather and prevent against collapsing. Tents may be inspected on the day of the event by the fire inspector.
Smoking shall not be permitted within tents or membrane structures.
Items may only be sold from the booth; vendors will not be allowed to circulate through the crowd to sell. Vendors are also prohibited from aggressive sales techniques including but not limited to flashing lights, audio or “barking” as participants pass the booths, or standing on top of booths, vehicles, or platforms.
It is the responsibility of the primary contact listed on the Vendor Application to orient their staff, volunteers, and subcontractors to these rules.
Violations of the rules listed herein may jeopardize the group’s ability to vend at future Town of Garner events.
